fact:

I can't write a diary because I hate who I am
when no one else is around
and the truth is, when I'm alone in the house
I make too many loud sounds

untitled/unfinished

and you think that I'm already in the middle of a song
because I start with words that belong in the middle
but the truth is I'm only holding your attention so long
because when eyes meet eyes, there's sparks (but just a little)
but it's enough to keep you around
how long until it lets you down

when will enough stop being too much
when will my rhymes stop being my crutch
right here and right now, there's less than a little left
of which I can speak, are you deaf yet? are you-
are you deaf yet?

there's a hotel balcony where our feet could dangle
and the city lights shone brighter than the barely stars
a mutual friend, a sweeter sixteen than we could handle
while we sat and held hands and tried to guess who we are
and I'm still wondering
neon flickering

when will enough stop being too much
when will my rhymes stop being my crutch
right here and right now, there's less than a little left
of which I can speak, are you deaf yet? are you-
are you deaf yet?
did I make you deaf yet?
I'm sorry
I'm so sorry
really though it's my fault
you'll forgive me if you ever get the courage to

This is the future and you are alive

I have been thinking about the future. In English, we're doing a research project on different possible careers. We have to choose two or three we're most interested in. I'm doing three out of the following: curator, director, editor (of what, I have no idea), producer. All four sound very appealing, but honestly, what are the chances I can reach any of these goals and have enough money to live comfortably? At least I have some sort of idea now, some sort of direction, even if the direction is as vague as a line drawn in the sand after the waves have crashed over it.

On another note, lemonade Coolattas are really good.

You wouldn't know a good thing if it came up and slit your throat

I wish friendships could always be mutual; it would make things a lot easier.

I've been listening to this CD nonstop for like 3 days.

Love will tear us apart again.

A Florida Girl

Because the beautiful wind, whipping your hair in your face,
And the chilly water and the beating sun, so contrastingly perfect,
And the sandy towels, damp with salty ocean spray,
And the laughter ringing through your ears, loud and audacious,
Make you forget about anything that could stop you from having the time you are having,
You completely disregard that hour you spent
In your bathroom mirror
Scrutinizing your own body,
And that is the wonder of the beach.

What a gooooooooooooood time

Things I did today:

1. Totally OWNED two spanish quizzes.
2. Put Danielle's shoes on a tree.
3. Totally OWNED an AP Human vocab quiz.
4. Did not understand Alg II at all. AT ALL.
5. Laughed so so much during English. Sample dialogue below.
Teacher: I am...
Dylan and I in unison: LEGEND!
6. Went to my house with Amanda.
7. Ate soup.
8. Went to the school for the Ghost of Bad Table Manor thing. Drama kids served some food while teachers performed a frankly inaudible play. I insulted the fact that Karen was asking what each ingredient in the soup was, wiping the sauce off her noodles, and being alive. The guy next to her thought it was very amusing. It was.
9. Ate the greatest cake EVER. WOAH, you guys, it was good.
10. Went to Amanda's house.
11. Made the best dance party playlist:
"Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go" by WHAM!
"Party in my Tummy" by Yo Gabba Gabba
"I Will Follow You Into The Dark" by Death Cab For Cutie (hahahahaha)
12. Went into an attic above Amanda's bed.
13. Renamed about 70% of Amanda's phone contacts. It was beyond hilarious; now every name is scene. EX: EnriqueEcstasy, CharlieChupacabra
There were many other, better ones, but I don't really ever remember anything ever.
14. Came home.
15. Started this blog entry.
16. Typed number 16.
17. I'm sorry this blog is becoming a diary.
18. Goodnight :)

A Relatively Pointless Post

As Steele would say, this post is Scraps. You know, just some random bits and pieces of interesting or funny or thoughtful or whimsical information.

1.

2. This place called the Flashback Diner has the best macaroni and cheese I have ever eaten, ever. EVER. It was like... heaven-sent.

3. Mercutio in Romeo + Juliet, the movie. The one with Leonardo DiCapulet. I mean Montague. The actor's name is Harold Perrineau and this is his imdb page. He's the greatest.

4. Tracy Morgan is hosting SNL this week. I don't know about you, but I'm excited.

Alrighty then.
Laterz.

woooaaaaaaahhhhhhh

Today had really good parts and really bad parts, so I'd say overall it averaged to be mediocre.

Good
brushing my teeth in the shower (a.k.a. best feeling in the world!)
"the drama touch"
listening to music during PE
flighting multiple times near the English building
painting Sam's arms and face with samples of foundation
singing 'Foundations', duet style, a cappella mostly
watching Tina's essence flow through a squirrel
fighting my cat with a pot lid and a fillet knife
being Bar Mitzvah Ben

Bad

waking up feeling very sick
taking the FCAT without anyone I like near me
never ever getting to see the really cool drawing I drew in my FCAT booklet ever ever again
discovering some very unnerving news about jailbait

On second thought, the good outweighs the bad. Thanks Dallas for making me write this entry. Now I realize that my day actually didn't suck. :)

I guess I'm my own better half

So I'm listening to Growing Up by Fall Out Boy for the first REAL full official time and it pretty much is the epitome of growing up. Here are the lyrics. My favorite part is how the drummer at the time, T.J. "Raccine" Kunasch, went so fast during the chorus, like he can't wait to grow up and hurry up and get over with it. I don't know if that was Fall Out Boy's intention, but it seemed like that to me and it kind of left a deeper impression on me because of it.

Growing up is probably the hardest thing to do ever. Figuring out who you are and where you want to go and what you want to do and who you want to be and how you want to grow and determining whether or not you can even control all of those things. How nerve-wracking.

P.S.
I went to Sweet Tomatoes to benefit Relay For Life today. I really like soup and all, but there was so much drama with my friends. I do not like drama. I like acting, but I do not like drama.

You
How can I be mad at you
You can do what you want
I cannot fight you for that
You
How can I let us go
You have always been there
I cannot live my life without you
You
You are hurting people
You need to stop
You need to see yourself
You need to stop
I love you too much to leave
But You
You need to stop
Or else
I will not know what else to do

P.P.S.
I like having my brother home. I like driving in the car with the windows down and some "indie" music blasting. I like that a LOT.

LAUREN'S MEGA AWESOME IMPROV MASHED FAUXTATOES

Okay you guys, I kind of would call myself a foodie. I like eating, and cooking, and watching cooking shows, and reading recipes, and learning about ingredients, and the like. There were so many inappropriately used commas in that sentence, it's not even FUNNY.

ANYWAY
So here's something I will call
LAUREN IS A TOP CHEF YES
a segment in which I will present to you a recipe that I have created.

This evening I made something I am going to call MEGA AWESOME IMPROV MASHED FAUXTATOES. Mega and awesome, because they are. Improv, because I didn't really use a specific recipe. And fauxtatoes, because I didn't really use any potatoes at all. And mashed because they're mashed. Duh.

Okaaaay, first you need to get ahead of the game and buy a head of cauliflower. Then you cut it into uniform pieces and rinse it nice & clean. Yup.

Then you get a pot and fill 'er up with so good old water. Now you might have to wait a while. WATER YOU WAITING FOR? For it to boil, of course!

Then you put in your rinsed and cut caulifhqwagads, probably about 10 minutes. Make sure it's at a rapid boil. I think you can tell for yourself if it's tender or not at the end.

I SAID RAPID BOIL!!!

Then when it's nice and mashable, you can pour it into a colander and start thinkin' 'bout the kind of stuff you wanna put in it. I like garlic and parmesan cheese. If you're gonna use garlic, make sure you add it when the cauliflower is really hot so the heat will cook it a little.

Mash it up nice and purdy, and there ya go. MEGA AWESOME IMPROV MASHED FAUXTATOES.

Bon appetit!

Individual? More like individujustlikeeveryoneelse.

I don't know, you guys... I guess it's good and bad that I'm like my brother. It's good because he's a pretty cool guy. It's bad because I've spent like 15 some-odd years trying to be my "own person" or some lame junkadunk like that. Am I looking too far into the opinion of a complete STRANGER? Or is this the unspoken opinion of everyone who has ever met both me and my brother?

Whatever. It's whatever.

P.S.
Today in Biology we had a substitute and Amanda had her desk moved because she started speaking in Parseltongue. I mean, we weren't allowed to talk at all in the first place, but the fact that she spoke a SNAKE LANGUAGE from HARRY POTTER was the icing on the rebellion cake.

P.P.S.
Next time I have the chance to stay in Band during 1st period, I am taking it. Hopefully it wasn't a once in a lifetime deal.

P.P.P.S.
Call whine-1-1 and get a WAHHbulance. Or maybe we'll drive to WAHHlive Garden for some cheese and whine. Or McWAHHnalds for some WAHHburgers and french cries.

TRUE STORY

This article is about how putting magnets near an alligator or crocodile’s
head may keep it from coming back to neighborhoods where they do not belong.
Apparently, it short-circuits the natural homing device within the crocodile or
alligator, rendering it unable to return to where it once was. This way, the animal
could live on in the wild without the inclination to return to civilization. This could
save hundreds of thousands of alligators over the next few millennia.
After reading this article, I realized it related to science and biology in
many ways. For example, crocodiles and alligators are both living things. Biology
is the study of life and living things. Therefore, by the transitive property,
biology is the study of alligators and crocodiles. These recent studies of
magnetism could save these reptiles and the people involved with accidents due to
their displacement. Overall, it would bring safety to all species in nature.

Today was good because it's about to be yesterday.

This morning I woke up, looked at my unfinished work, and died. Then I woke up later, did some but not all of it, had a horrible stomach ache, and then died again. However, this time, in my death I was driven to school for 7th period. English. The dreaded Romeo and Juliet test. I turned in my unfinished work and prepared for the journey I had been anticipating. The multiple choice wasn't that bad, but the major essay took me forever so I was unable to properly do the other shorter essays.

Although I have a ton of work for tonight, I am free. The last B day before FCAT is over, and now I can relax, enjoy the A day Friday, and bask in the glow of the pointless experience known as FCAT.

Tonight I hope I can make it to Maggie Moo's for some cancer-fighting ice cream. Relay For Life is sponsoring/hosting an event where if you buy ice cream between 6 and 8, some or all of the money goes to kicking cancer where it hurts.

Now I will describe to you an experience that I experienced on my walk home from the bus stop. I was a few houses away from my house and a really adorable, medium-sized black and tan cat was standing in one of the driveways across the street. I stopped and looked at it, and instead of running away, it took a step towards me, kind of hesitantly. It made a really amazingly priceless "mew" and I said "meoww" and it kept walking towards me. I knelt to the ground and got closer slowly, and it walked to me and finally I put my hand out and it sniffed my fingers and rubbed its head across them. I started to pet it, and it rubbed against my leg, making a figure 8 between my feet. Now, I know I'm not supposed to touch strange animals, but this cat had a red collar and was the sweetest and most adorable cat on earth, and it was so friendly to me, a complete stranger. As I said goodbye and walked toward my house, I looked back and it was staring at me. I wonder if (s)he'll remember me tomorrow if I see it again.

rethinking success

Do you think that maybe if I wrote the best poem ever about regretting not finishing my work, I could get the same credit as if I finished my work? I am so tired, I am actually treating this as a rational thought. It's not a good sign, I know. I'm just procrastinating further by writing this. Maybe I should just go to bed and wake up tomorrow and finish in the morning. Maybe that would never work because I wouldn't wake up and have time to do that. Maybe kill me please.

wasting away
hour by hour
seconds pass
decaying like corpses
time lapses
faster and slower
both are the same
because both are not doing
what needs to be done
a pitiful shame

I don't want to be a footnote in someone else's happiness.

**Edit: I did reunite with my agenda after the class in which I wrote the above paper. Apparently, Jena had it and wasn't even going to bother to give it back to me unless she ran into me. She didn't even believe how badly I needed it when Karen tried to convince her. Jena = on my list.

sometimes we all feel this way.

Actually

I do love Miley Cyrus because of how fun it is to lip synch to the song See You Again.

Also I like her because she was so mean to Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez in this video:

Just wanted to clear that up. After midnight. When I'm trying to do my AP Human Geography work.

Super Mega Ultra Jam-Packed Post of Wonders

Today was not the best day, however I was feeling very inspired and consequently very antsy in all of my classes. I had two tests and an English presentation today, not so fun at all. On the bus home from school, I wrote down on a piece of paper all of the things I would write in my blog today, so here they are.

1) The Weather
In FL there are generally three kinds of weather: unbearably humid and hot, relatively frozen and tundra-like, and a nice peaceful kind of inbetween that feels like a little bit of heaven sprinkled down. This morning was completely frozos. I hated it. I have no idea how I could go to a school farther North than like... Ecuador. But then when I was walking home from my bus stop today, it warmed up a little and felt very nice and chilly and refreshing.

2) My Agenda
I LOST MY AGENDA. MY PLANNER. MY DATEBOOK. MY LIFE. KILL ME. ALSO IT HAD A PICTURE INSIDE OF IT OF MY BIRTHDAY PARTY. AGAIN, KILL ME.

3) Algebra II Post-Test Doodles
After my Ch.9 test in Alg II Hon today, I doodled on the scrap paper we were given. Here are some:

As you can see, I drew several cacti. At first they were normal cacti. Then they kind of shifted to being more McPedro-esque. <-- That's a link to a webcomic I like a lot.

4) Failure
I tried to see if I could put my English project on here, but it's a DVD so it won't let me. Sorry, guyz.

5) YESSSS
During one group's English presentation, the word "EXTERMINATE!!!" was on the board. So I said "BURNINATE!" and then my English teacher started singing "TROGDORRRRRRRRRRRRR" and Amanda and I almost DIED. Like can humans get any more amazing than that?! No, the answer is they cannot.

Hopefully this post is as calcium-enriched as I planned. If not, I will definitely barf and then cry.

Friggin' Frig

As much as I desperately want to make an interesting, wholesome, nutrient-rich blog entry tonight, I have so much homework it is coming out of every orifice of my body. I have two tests tomorrow, and 8 really difficult AP Human questions to answer, and about 1,000 math lessons to make up for homework, and I probably have Spanish homework, and honestly all I want to do is bake a Funfetti cake, eat it all, and go to bed. Story of my life.

Today I wore a Beastie Boys shirt. You know, that really cool teal one? Yeah, that one. Anyway, I walked into English to get something or whatnot and this kid from her 4th period is calling me out on it! He was all, "You don't know the Beastie Boys," and I was like "nothing" because I didn't say anything because honestly I had my haterblockers on and next time he steps out, I'mma cut loose and smackabih.

Well, that was a longer entry than planned. You're welcome.

SPAZZING RANT

See that? That is annoying. The pixel quality sucks and everyone thinks it's the coolest thing ever to label your friends in the silly little drawings but it isn't fun at all. IT ISN'T.
