This article is about how putting magnets near an alligator or crocodile’s
head may keep it from coming back to neighborhoods where they do not belong.
Apparently, it short-circuits the natural homing device within the crocodile or
alligator, rendering it unable to return to where it once was. This way, the animal
could live on in the wild without the inclination to return to civilization. This could
save hundreds of thousands of alligators over the next few millennia.
After reading this article, I realized it related to science and biology in
many ways. For example, crocodiles and alligators are both living things. Biology
is the study of life and living things. Therefore, by the transitive property,
biology is the study of alligators and crocodiles. These recent studies of
magnetism could save these reptiles and the people involved with accidents due to
their displacement. Overall, it would bring safety to all species in nature.
